Revit Drafter

ACRE Designs is seeking an Architectural Drafter/ Revit Specialist to join our team. This person will help create construction and permit documents for Acre homes. The ideal candidate will have a b.Arch/M.Arch. or Technical Degree, strong BIM management experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a deep interest in construction.

 

Location– Remote or Reno Office

 

You love detail. You are excited to dive in and learn all of the components of an Acre home, how they are constructed, and how to best communicate that to crew.    

You are highly organized.  You love to put things in their place and make sense of complexity.  Acre homes are assemblies of hundreds of items that need to be designed, detailed and kept current while working on several projects at the same time.   

You have ample technical and design skills. While you may or may not be an architect, you know how things go together and understand building code. You are a Revit pro and can quickly produce drawings and component diagrams, and can organize sets. You are also eager to learn how to make the most of BIM, especially in a manufacturing setting.

You are curious and strive to make improvements.  You are interested in making things better, finding alternatives, cutting costs, and increasing speed. You live by the mantra “there is always a way!”

You are great at researching.  You are a master of search and can find the resource no matter where it hides.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Must demonstrate an ability to efficiently produce architectural working drawings with Revit Architecture (MINIMUM 5 years of experience) with minimal supervision. Candidates should be prepared for a brief Revit proficiency test.
  • Develops architectural working drawings including building floor plans, 3D model views, elevations, sections, schedules, details, foundation plans and elementary site development plans from design sketches by others. Able to check and verify dimensional accuracy, compliance with code requirements and regulations, budget, and schedules. Prepares revisions to drawings as required.
  • Can independently rough out building sections and construction details, model restroom layouts and elevations with code considerations, model stairs and complex areas to produce enlarged plans, sections, and details, and populate door, window, and finish schedules using Revit components and corresponding annotation tags.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new construction technologies and building products.
  • Able to field measure, document, and accurately assess homes under construction.
  • Able to prepare sketches for bulletins and field clarifications.
  • Able to attend meetings and visit job sites as requested.
  • Masterful operation of Revit at client meetings and working sessions is required.
  • Performs project administration tasks including plotting drawing sets, assisting in review of shop drawings and submittals, and delivering documents to clients.
  • Demonstrates great skill in BIM modeling, renderings, and animations.
  • Exhibits progressive accumulation of Revit skills through the execution of more complex projects. Maintains current knowledge of Revit technologies through self-motivated study or training.
  • Demonstrates analytical problem-solving skills and comprehension of the architectural project process. Able to assist Designers and Architects in the design selection of materials, components, and construction details.
  • Ability to work in the capacity of an assistant to the Project Managers, working with the management of clients and projects without the direct oversight of Designers or Architects.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Revit or Autodesk Certification is preferred, as is experience with MEP coordination.
